Enjoy an eco-adventure speedboat tour to the mangrove forests at the UNESCO-listed Can Gio Biosphere Reserve. On our journey through scenic canals south to the mangroves, we will briefly enter the Mekong Delta and stop at a local riverside
market where you can absorb all the colors, sounds and aromas of this fertile region. Life in the Mekong Delta seems deliciously slow paced – agriculture is still the dominant industry and the landscape is a tapestry of violently green paddy fields,
mirror-like pools, and expansive fields of exotic fruits, all fed by the life-giving brown waters of the river snaking between them. Once we leave the leafy palms and coconut trees of the Mekong behind we will then be enveloped in a dusky twilight world, enveloped
by towering mangrove trees that provide a habitat for 200 species of fauna and 52 species of flora.
See villagers hand-knotting nets before spreading them out to dry in the sun at a local fishing hamlet. Spot monkeys and gibbons swinging through the
trees at Vam Sat. Feed the crocodiles at the crocodile reserve and paddle around the still waters of the bat lagoon in a small wooden boat. A breakfast of pastries, fresh fruits and Vietnamese coffee will be served as we depart Saigon, and Vietnamese specialties
such as Vietnamese spring rolls, lemongrass chicken and fried elephant ear fish – a Mekong Delta specialty – will be served for lunch.
